The Last Roses of Summer

It was only two weeks ago when my sister's best friend asked me to make a special card for her mothers 82nd Birthday.

This brought wonderful memories back. My dad had a beautiful flower garden when I was young and all the beauty of this garden came rushing back to me. The perfume of the Roses were so intense that I felt these were the flowers I would make. Therefore my card became the Last Roses of summer.

I made sculptured Roses with a beautiful deep red pearlecent paper. I just added some sprigs of fern to complement the flowers. I felt that was all that was needed. I added a few drops of Crystal Lacquer to the petals to make the dew drops. Then it was finished. After this was complete I made a lovely window faced linen box to place my card in.
