Stampin Up Stocking Punch Rose and then quilled centre

These roses were created by using the Stampin Up Christmas Stocking Punch.  It is only the cuff of the stocking   that I use but this makes the most beautiful Rose.  The Rose is very similar to the making of a quilled Rose made with rectangles. This is the order with which I make them.

1.  To make the Stocking Punch Rose you will need to cut out 10 Stocking Cuffs and 1 6cm long x1cm wide strip of card stock.

2. On each 10 Cuff Dies cut a slit of .5 -.75 cm down the centre of the short end.

3.Add a dab of glue to the left hand side and overlap the two sides.

4. Complete the whole 10.  There are five petals to each layer. Roll back each top corner of the petals to allow the cuff to look like a petal.  Then add another dab of glue to the inside of the cupped part of the petal and make a layer of 5 petals like the photo below.

5.  Start by adding one on top of the other until you have a layer of petals then complete the next petal layer exactly the same way.

6. Take one of the layers of petals and add a glue dab to the inside then place the second layer on top of the first layer allow the two layers to bond together. Then with the 6cm x1cm strip roll up into a coil and allow to unravel slightly.  Add another dab of glue onto the top layer of the petals then add the rolled centre.  The centre can be rolled with a quilling tool or around a tooth pick or wooden skewer.  Then allowed to relax and added to the centre of the rose. Make a few of the Roses and bunch them together add a few leaves. WOW

7.This is the finished product.
